Interactive Hand-made Art
As a kiddo, I loved games that encouraged pretend play and allowed me to step into a story and imagine myself as a character – whether a hero, villain, or magical helper – often in a fantastical world. In that spirit, I develop hand-made, original games to aid participants of all ages in exploring and creating their own personal fairytales. These games draw upon archetypal images that connect intuitively to the imagination. While archetypes are nuanced from culture to culture, they represent conceptual ideas that generally translate into easily recognizable patterns and motifs. Archetypes are building blocks for constructing and telling stories.
While the symbology in these games have specific and autobiographical meanings to me, the participant is encouraged to intuit what the visual metaphors mean in the context of their own lives and imaginations.
